The school adopted and proceeded with the programme for the ongoing academic year 2010-2011. Two hundred and forty students of std. VIII have very enthusiastically enrolled themselves for the Bronze level. |

ISA Project of the British Council in the school curriculum Change is inevitable and certainly enhances the quality of any institution if incorporated at the right time. A new wave of change has swept the school since last year. The international dimension in education is an increasingly important part to support the cultural heritage of teachers, learners and communities leading to positive learning across schools. International School Award (ISA) is one such platform to develop collaborative curriculum-based international work with partner schools. Instituted by the British Council, ISA is an accreditation scheme for international curriculum work and provides a frame work for schools developing international curriculum International School award was introduced in the school this academic year .All the three sections of the school were roped in to do activities under the ISA project. In all 8 projects made way in the British Council.approved action plan. The Secondary section In the month of July began the first activity of the secondary section i.e. the Fusion Music. This project had students of our school crooning away to the international music i.e. rock, jazz, blues etc. This happened through various activities like inter-house singing competition and also performed in the cultural day . Music director from U.K. was our partner who guided our music teachers and helped through her e-mails and telephonic conversations. The outcome of this activity was that our students and teachers learnt about western music and how Indian music is not very different from the western. Music in any form is universal and appeals to senses and has a rejuvenating effect. The second project that started in the month of August was the 'Solid waste segregation and management'. This project was undertaken with the intention to minimize the amount of solid waste getting accumulated in the school and achieve the target of 'zero' waste which involved various activities like It was a different learning experience for the students to link with schools all over the world and globally exchange their ideas and views on the above topic. Std 6 and 7 students of the section took part in the 3rd project of the ISA titled 'A Prismatic View of Cultural change' in the month of September .The aim of the project was to make students aware how migration of people from one place to another leads to social cultural changes in life. The students with the help of their teachers delved into information of migrants in USA , UAE and India and how intermingling of outsiders and locals led to changes in dress, food, culture, religion and architecture of the country. The fourth project that commenced in the month of January was a project titled 'Conservation of Natural Resources' The students of std 8 and std 9 were a part of this project. The aim of the project was to create an awareness about the need of conservation of the natural resources in the world. The awareness was created through activities like Activities like Essay writing, Poetry writing developed a sense of responsibility towards Mother Earth. Students learned sensible management of natural resources which involves the use and preservation of these resources without over exploitation, misuse or waste.awareness was created to avoid wastage and look out for alternative sources of energy to conserve them. Apart from the above a conscious efforts were made by students and teachers alike to establish links with countries abroad to find out and learn methods adopted by them in favour of conservation of resources . The Primary Section conducted three activities. The first activity on flora and fauna was done through activities, dance and drama and powerpoint presentations by 1000 children. It brought out the comparative study and also the appreciation of flora and fauna of Spain which was the international link and India. The students included the cultures of both the countries while doing these activities. The second activity on monuments included 750 children who got themselves involved in learning about the history, location and the designs of these monuments. Students did this through worksheets, mapwork, elocution and model making. As a part of the project Std V participated in the activity of Artwork which included the comparative study of India and Thailand. Teachers drew out a plan and chalked out the activities section wise which included activities on craft, drawing, needlework, dance , role play and music of Thailand and India. The activity was planned for January. The children were inducted on the preparations that would be a part of the entire activity. Teachers assisted the children to form groups, interact and get involved in the activities. The entire Std was in action totally engrossed in the activities. One of the sections put up a dance on the four states of India ie north, south, east and west while another section put up a dance on Thailand. It was choreographed by the dance teacher. The children dressed up in beautiful costumes and adorned in jewellery and heavy make up. Some of the children prepared craft work from waste materials while others made artistic designs of Thailand artwork. Children worked relentlessly to put up a beautiful array of knitted embroidery work. Finally it was learning that took place not only amongst students, but also amongst teachers which widened their horizon of education. The Pre-primary section of the school started with their ISA project in the month of August .This project titled 'Flags and Anthems' had the tiny tots of our Junior and Senior K.G. involved along with their teachers. This project consisted of the kids learning about the flags of their country as well the flags of their link countries i.e. USA & the U.A.E. The students were taught and showed flags of these nations, this was followed by the drawing activity, wherein they drew out the flags with the help of their teachers. Merging of the flags was the next activity .Once the students had learnt about the importance of the flags it was time to make them listen to the anthems of the 3 nations. The music teachers task was to teach the students our national anthem, the students were also made to listen to the national anthems of the USA & the U.A.E repeatedly which enabled them to sing it at the end of the activity. The teachers then taught them about the national animals of the 3 nations and conducted a drawing activity on the same. The outcome of this activity was to teach children about the importance of national flag and anthem for every nation and how one should respect them always. |

World Kids International Film Festival World Kids International Film Festival is a programme run by Mrs. Manju Singh a renowned television and screen actor. The objective of this programme is to reach out to students at various schools and show case movies which are value oriented. The aim is to inculcate values in the future citizens. Our institution has always believed in the all round development of the students giving equal importance to the development of the student’s emotional quotient, hence the school adopted this particular programme. The Film Festival under the title ‘Lessons in The Dark’ began in the school from 2nd August 2010. Students from std. III to std. VII are being shown value-based short films and documentaries. |
